If you're new to class, please read through the health & safety info below and complete the registration at the bottom.

GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY

My classes are open to everyBody regardless of your experience, current fitness level or the level of intensity you wish to take part at. To keep you and others safe, please follow my health and safety guidance when taking part in my classes:
- Ensure you practise the appropriate level of movement/impact for your body and how you are feeling. 
- Wear comfortable clothing that doesn't restrict your movement and suitable footwear. 
- Bring some water with you. I'll suggest times to take a break but feel free to stop for a drink whenever you need to.
- My classes are a safe space for all, so please don't take any photos or videos. I will always seek permission before taking group photos/videos.
- If you feel unwell or experience any pain whilst taking part, please stop.
- By participating, you are taking full responsibility for your own health and safety.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY READINESS QUESTIONNAIRE (PAR-Q)

This is a fitness industry standard questionniare and is nothing to worry about. This information helps us to ensure that the class works for you and any changes or adaptations you need are supported so that you are safe. 

The PAR-Q helps identify if you should check with your doctor before you significantly change your physical activity patterns. It's designed for adults up to the age of 69. If you are over 69, or are pregnant, you should check with your doctor to make sure it's safe for you to exercise, if you haven't done so already.

 

Please read the following questions carefully:

1. Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition and that you should only do physical activity recommended by a doctor?

2. Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?

3. In the past month, have you had chest pain when you were not doing physical activity?

4. Do you lose balance because of dizziness, or do you ever lose consciousness?

5. Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity?

6. Is your doctor currently prescribing medication for your blood pressure or heart condition?

7. Do you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity?

If you:

  • Answered YES to one or more questions

  • Are pregnant, or under 6 months post-partum

  • Are over 69

You should consult with your doctor/specialist/medical practitioner (if you haven't already) about taking part in a new activity. They can advise if it's safe for you and inform of any particular movements or exercises you should avoid or adapt.

Delay becoming more active if:

  • You have a temporary illness such as a cold or fever; it is best to wait until you feel better.

  • You are pregnant - talk to your health care practitioner, your physician, a qualified exercise professional, before becoming more physically active.

  • Your health changes - talk to your doctor or qualified exercise professional before continuing with any physical activity program.

If you have answered NO to all questions, it is reasonably safe for you to participate in physical activity, gradually building up from your current activity level.

• I confirm that I am voluntarily engaging in a group exercise class that involves physical activity and am aware that my participation may involve a risk of injury. 
• If I answered YES to any PAR-Q questions, am pregnant, or am over 69, I understand it is my responsibility to seek medical advice before taking part and inform the instructor. 
• I confirm that I understand if my health changes, or if I need to delay taking part due to illness or injury, I should re-visit this questionnaire and discuss with the instructor.
